Leyla Fischer
Transforming Emotions into Art
Leyla Fischer is an open-minded artist who loves exploring new places and meeting new faces. Having lived in various countries, she embraces the diversity these experiences bring. Spontaneous and sometimes chaotic, Leyla is a perfectionist in her art. Drawn to painting realistic portraits and bodies from a young age, she was influenced by her mother, an artist skilled in realism and abstract forms. Surrounded by strong female figures, Leyla's early works focused on the female form, a theme that continues in her current artworks. Painting became a source of confidence for her, transforming insecurity into self-assurance and artistic identity. Inspired by nature, conversations, music, memories, and emotions, Leyla's creativity is deeply personal. Her Somali mother’s strength and artistry, her father's culinary and musical talents, and her creative sisters all shaped her artistic journey. Life’s challenges and triumphs are reflected in her work, transforming emotions into vibrant pieces. Seeking peace and balance, Leyla finds solace by the sea, painting outdoors amid nature’s sounds. This serene setting calms her mind and infuses her art with natural beauty and tranquility.

Smrita Swarup
Transforming Emotions into Art
Smrita Swarup is a Singapore based artist who loves playing with colors. She works mainly with acrylic paint to create beautiful contemporary pieces inspired by nature. Smrita’s childhood home in India had a beautiful garden, which to her, was no less than paradise. Naturally, its picturesque flowers soon became the subjects of some of her first paintings, and she hasn’t put down the brush ever since. Her love for both nature and painting blossomed in that tiny garden, its impact still evident in her present collections. Though she considers herself a born artist, Smrita is also an accomplished scholar. She holds an honors degree in Chemistry and Mathematics, as well as a Postgraduate Certification in teaching Mathematics from University of Harvard. Her studious nature prompted her to formally pursue her passion in the Contemporary Arts by earning a diploma from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She thereon began her career as an artist, wanting her passion to also be her profession. This outlook further drove her to be an art therapist, guiding kids with special disabilities and terminal illnesses to experiment and create their own works of art. With a career ranging over 20 years, Smrita has participated in numerous exhibitions locally and internationally, such as Art Stage, Affordable Art Fair, World Art Dubai and Art Jakarta; her works were selected in Florence Biennale 2020. They have been adopted by the Latin American Museum of Los Angeles and Museum of Art, Egypt; and commissioned in New York, Mumbai, and Delhi.
